This is a modified bone holding forcep.
One end has a spherical tip with a sharp point designed to engage the bone through a plate hole and the spherical tip holds the plate position. On top of this spherical tip is an attached Drill Guide meaning the pilot hole can be drilled whilst everything is held securely with a single instrument. The other tip is simply a sharp tip to engage the far cortex. Great for the solo surgeon without assistance as combines instruments and reduces the need for additional hands to hold those instruments.
Available for 1.5/2.0mm, 2.4/2.7mm and 3.5mm plates and with either spinlock or ratchet closure as spinlock offers more control but can also be ‘fiddly’ to apply with less hands free so ratchet offers a quicker and easier solution.
